Steve
This is a character is fondly named Steve. He was created for a summer campaign to help promote new beverages and other products, including custom branded sunglasses.
Steve is a Yeti that was designed from scratch, based on some T-pose sketches. he is fully detailed including skin wrinkles and details, and custom styled fur.
During this project i did every step of the character
design process, including:
High res detail sculpting on high poly model.
Baking the detailed model into materials
and displacement maps to be used on a low poly model.Created, shaped and styled the fur.
Built out the full skeleton for all of the joints.
Painted UV weight maps to allow character motion based on the skeleton’s motion.
Created detailed textures.
Sculpted multiple facial expressions to allow use of the pose-morph feature to bring life to the character.
Everything was done fully within Cinema 4D.
He is built with a full skeleton and controls for every joint. This includes custom controls for his hands, fingers, feet and toes. As well as custom controls for his face and tongue. He also has multiple custom sculpted facial expressions.
other character work
Here are some other examples of character work.
This first example show the use motion transfer. The dancing motion was taken from the Mixamo.com website and them applied to a premade Cinema 4D character.
I then applied a voxel effect to that character.
Following are are some other examples.
Motion Transfer & Retexturing
Joint chains & motion driven by wind
Hand keyframed motion.
